Galactus by Lee and Moeibus

Sample panels of an intriguing(unfortunately out of print) 1988 comic called Parable, which united two comic giants; Stan Lee and Moebius. Definitely worth checking out for those that can find it(although those averse to religious debate or overtones might find it plodding. I did not).

A bridge and a finger

I just liked Kirby's use of perspective and size here; thought I would share it with you.

The Iron Warrior (by Ditko and Lee)

It's always good to recall the work of two pillars of the comic book format, especially if it is something rarely seen or not the first thing that comes to mind when one one thinks of their name. Originally shown in STRANGE TALES# 108(1963).

Stan Lee and Jim Steranko, Together? Who knew!

One of the joys of making this blog is meeting new people and their interests, which sometimes are different, but often the same but within a different focus. Joe Ackerman, who left a nice comment in the Gerber-Lilith post, has a blog of his own, which predominately celebrates comic book art. One such story that caught my eye features two celebrated creators who I never knew collaborated (three guess who, and the first two don't count).

Even stranger, the point of collaboration is a romance tale, one genre nether is associated with. This is certainly different than the funny animal, humor, or horror stories I have posted on before, but I have no shame in this story. The female lead is not cloying, rather constructed like a real woman, something out of an Allen film, or Alice from the Honeymooners. And besides, isn't variety the spice of life? Now onto the real question: Who did the marvellous color?

Three Times with Not Brand Echh(and Asifa)

I just can't get enough of this comic, can you?I love Kirby's faces, Lee's hilarious dialogue and all the other qualities that make this the biggest in-joke parody ever made. It's the best one too. Don't forget to ask for more at Aisfa.

Back again with Not Brand Echh Number 2

This is a sequel definitely worth a glance. More from those crazy guys at Marvel. Oh, and a gal; but what a gal! Marie Severin with her some of her most enjoyable work. She is just one on the best artists. Not as a woman. One of the best period.

Remember, if you can, go to the Asifa and ask for more!

Not Brand Echh Number 1(with Asifa Archive)

The great Archive has put up part of one of the greatest comics series of all time, Not Brand Echh. This is a sure way to start a Marvel humor comic, featuring the talents of its two creators --Stan Lee and Jack Kirby-- making fun of the first Marvel title. Hurry and support it. This way we can see more from them. I know I'll be asking.
