I understand Al Hirshfeld's argument, and to some extent I agree with him. The Dwarves were obviously the best of Snow White, and trying to copy things realistically is pointless when it comes to character animation. However, I disagree with his thoughts on realistic effects. I think doing stuff like realistic (looking)water effects shows a great love of the medium. It shows that a loving hand helped to create the effects in order to enhance the atmosphere of the film. But hey, that's just me.
